Randy Dexter (Communication Studies) and Jefferson Detrick (Public Administration) were among those who graduated from the Student Veterans of America's 2017 Leadership Institute. Expected to be the leaders of tomorrow, the 93 graduates completed intensive leadership training over three days with access to distinguished leaders including former President George W. Bush. Identified as the highest-performing student veterans in higher education, they traveled to the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas to receive nearly 15 hours of intensive classroom training from business and industry leaders. This premier training for emerging leaders in post-secondary education focused on teaching a personal leadership ethos and how to apply it. Graduates defined their personal leadership vision and developed an action plan to implement that vision in chapters, colleges, and communities across America.
