Linda Lister (Music) is the 2014 winner of The American Prize in Directing, for Sancta Susanna and Suor Angelica. She was selected from applications reviewed this summer from across the United States. The American Prize is a series of new, non-profit competitions unique in scope and structure, designed to recognize and reward the best performing artists, ensembles, and composers in the United States based on submitted recordings. As director of UNLV Opera Theatre, she has directed several productions, including La Canterina, The Impresario, Carmen, The Fairy Queen, Suor Angelica, and Sancta Susanna. Also a composer, she has written several one-act operas, including one about the Bronte sisters, How Clear She Shines!
