Associate professor Kimberly Gratland James (Music), D.Mus., performed the role of Herodias in Richard Strauss's challenging opera, Salome, with Rimrock Opera in early April. Later in the month she performed as a soloist in Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Idaho Falls Symphony, a work she has performed often with symphonies across the United States. Earlier in the semester she performed in Las Vegas, first on a recital featuring works by female composers, followed by a performance of Maurice Ravel's Chansons madécasses with colleagues (John McMurtery, Andy Smith, and Katie Leung) on a School of Music Chamber Society concert.
