Associate professor Jenna Weglarz-Ward (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education) recently published an article in the latest edition of Division for Early Childhood's Recommended Practices Monograph Series--Leadership: Leading From Where You Are. "Every Family is a Leader: How Professional-Family Partnership Empowers Family Leaders," was written with Kimberly Hile from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and members of the DEC Family Committee. This article provides the history of family leadership in special education and helpful strategies to support families to advocate for themselves and others through stories from families of children with disabilities from around the world.
