James Navalta (Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences), Dustin Davis (Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences postdoctoral scholar), Elias Malek (Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Ph.D. student), and Bryson Carrier (Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Ph.D. student) recently published a paper. Along with collaborators from California State University, San Bernardino (Nathaniel Bodell) and Southern Utah University (Jacob Manning, Jeffrey Cowley, Merrill Funk, Marcus Lawrence, Mark DeBeliso) the paper entitled "Heart rate processing algorithms and exercise duration on reliability and validity decisions in biceps‑worn Polar Verity Sense and OH1 wearables" was published in Scientific Reports. The paper evaluates how different heart rate processing algorithms affect whether wearable technology is considered reliable or valid.
