Gerilyn Slicker (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education) received the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Early Education and Child Development (EE/CD) Special Interest Group (SIG) Outstanding Dissertation Award for her dissertation titled, "Provider Participation in the Child Care Subsidy System: A Mixed Methods Study." The annual award is presented for a dissertation completed in the past two years that is of exceptional merit and investigates a topic related to the development of children birth through age 8, including studies focused on families, teachers, and others who care for and educate young children. Slicker will present her dissertation work and receive the award during the Early Education and Child Development SIG annual business meeting during the AERA annual conference in April in Chicago.
