Erika Engstrom (Communication Studies) presented "Television's 'New Man' Persona: Nostalgia and Masculinity in ABC's 'The Goldbergs'" at the annual conference of the Far West Popular and American Culture Associations in Las Vegas. Engstrom examined how hegemonic masculinity and masculine communication styles are portrayed in the popular network sitcom of family life in suburban Philadelphia during the 1980s.
