Faculty and students from the Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences department recently published a paper in the Human Physiology in Exercise, Health and Sports Performance special issue of the journal Sports, titled, "Validity and Reliability of Wearable Technology Devices during Simulated Pickleball Game Play." Merging two popular topics in exercise and physical activity today (pickleball and wearable technology), the study is the first to report whether wearable devices return accurate and/or consistent measurements of heart rate and energy expenditure while playing pickleball.
The faculty and students included: Bryson Carrier, Matahn Blank, Setareh Zarei, Dustin W. Davis, Micah Craig, Olivia R. Perez, Jacob Baca, Thea S. Sweder, Tashari Carballo and Jamaal Bovell.
