On April 14, Ph.D. student and instructor Dennis Baloglu (Hospitality) delivered an educational workshop titled, "An Introduction to Data Science: A Roadmap to a Career in Analytics," at the THEREPS conference, where he served as an industry keynote speaker. Using the "Inspire, educate, instill a call to action" approach, Baloglu highlighted the numerous lucrative opportunities available in the field, discussed how the hospitality industry utilizes analytics, demonstrated the specific tools he used in his analytical roles, shared resources for downloading secondary datasets, and provided a step-by-step guide on creating an "analytics portfolio" to showcase one's skillset to potential employers.
