David Schwartz (Libraries) has been selected to serve on the Nevada Gaming Policy Committee. The committee, which meets at the call of the governor to discuss matters of gaming policy, includes representatives from Nevada's government, Nevada's tribal members, gaming regulators, the gaming industry, and the general public. The objective of the committee is to get input from various constituencies, including the public, on gaming policy issues for possible future consideration by the board and commission, as appropriate. He is the author of several books about gambling, including Roll the Bones: The History of Gambling and Grandissimo: The First Emperor of Las Vegas. At the Center for Gaming Research, he manages the world's largest research collection devoted to gambling and maintains a comprehensive online gaming portal. He is also the gaming and hospitality editor for Vegas Seven, writing the biweekly Green Felt Journal column as well as feature stories.
