Today the London Indie Short Festival announced that the winner for the Best Documentary Short category went to the interdisciplinary project known as The UNLV Shoah Survivors Project. Congratulations to all of the film's collaborators!
About the film
The UNLV College of Liberal Arts religious studies program and UNLV College of Fine Arts dance department present an interdisciplinary video featuring stories from four Holocaust survivors who now reside in Las Vegas. Holocaust survivors Stephen Nasser, Sabina Wagschal Callwood, Alexander Kuechel, and the late Henry Kronberg share their stories, which are translated through docudance — choreography that is created, performed, and captured to document stories. Over the past few years, this interdisciplinary project has developed a strong collaboration between Roberta Sabbath's World Literature classes and the choreography classes, and the two colleges. Students and faculty from both departments come together to help bring stories from the world's unique religions and world views to life through dance.
The film has closed captions in English for the hearing impaired.
