Bryson Carrier (Integrated Health Sciences Ph.D. program), Macy Helm (Integrated Health Sciences Ph.D. program), Kyle Cruz (MS Kinesiology), and Brenna Barrios (MS Kinesiology) recently published an article titled, "Validation of Aerobic Capacity (VO2max) and Lactate Threshold in Wearable Technology for Athletic Populations," in the journal Technologies as part of a Special Issue on Wearables. The purpose of the study was to determine the validity of wearable technology in producing estimates of VO2max and lactate threshold in athletic populations. The Garmin f¯enix 6® produces accurate measurements of VO2max and lactate threshold in athletic populations and can be used to make training decisions among athletes.
