Ayla Gelsinger (Communication Studies and Psychology) received the Spectra Undergraduate Research Journal Best Article Award for the work, A Critical Analysis of the Body Positive Movement on Instagram: How Does it Really Impact Body Image?, which published in Spectra’s inaugural fall 2020 issue. Sponsored by the office of undergraduate research (OUR), the award identifies the best undergraduate research article published in each issue across the academic spectrum. The award aims to foster undergraduate research publication and boost submissions to Spectra, contributing to UNLV’s overall research output. For each issue, all published articles are automatically considered for this award and authors are not required to apply to be considered. For each issue, OUR identifies and honors one article and awards its authors with a monetary prize of $500 and a plaque acknowledging the award.
