Ashley Tovar, James Navalta, Laura Kruskall, and Jack Young (all Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences) co-authored “The Effect of Moderate Consumption of Non-nutritive Sweeteners on Glucose Tolerance and Body Composition in Rats,” which explored whether consumption of non-nutritive sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose altered body fat distribution. The article, which appeared in the November issue of Applied Physiology, Nutrition, and Metabolism, was based on Tovar's master's thesis.
