Amy Brown (Music) presented Parachute Play at the Las Vegas Urban Chapter of Kodaly Educators (LUCKE) Chapter Workshop. In addition to the Kodaly method, participants experienced musical literacy using multiple methods of music education philosophies (Orff and Dalcroze). Using Edvard Grieg's, In the Hall of the Mountain King, members performed the piece with movements involving a 12 ft rainbow parachute, singing (inspired by AI), as well as unpitched instrument parts to create ostinati patterns to accompany the song. The presentation was divided into multiple sections to emphasize the Kodaly method of Prepare, Present and Practice for teaching elementary music students.
