Amanda Belarmino (Hospitality), Christopher Cain (Hospitality, PGM), and Junghoon Lee (Hospitality, PGM - current PhD. student) recently published a case study, "Examining the Impact of Learning Styles on Anxiety Coping Mechanisms for Hospitality Students: A Case Study of Future and Current Golf Professionals" in the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education.
The case study examines how learning styles impact anxiety and coping mechanisms for golfers when they are teeing off on the first hole. This study found that avoidance and approach were the two major coping styles. The results help to inform golf programs in higher education as to how to better educate their students on anxiety and, in turn, how the students as future golf professionals can help their future students at clubs and golf courses around the world.
