Alain Bengochea (Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education) has been appointed by the Nevada Department of Education to serve on the advisory council to revise and modernize the Nevada State Literacy Plan (NSLP). The NSLP provides guidance and support to districts and charter schools by incorporating contemporary literacy best practices.
Advisory council members serve as a link between the Nevada Department of Education and local education agencies (LEAs); advise on the best use of evidence-based practices on literacy to ensure that information is vetted; and high-quality resources are included in the plan.
