About
The Learn, Experience And Progress (LEAP) Internship/Externship Program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV strives to fulfill the Top Tier 2.0 vision of “improving the lives of our diverse students and transforming our communities through education and engagement.” This inter-institutional administrative program provides UNLV graduate students the opportunity to engage in academic healthcare and obtain real work experience and/or education credits that are the foundation to their success after graduation. A limited number of interns/externs are selected from our program partners each semester to participate.
Internships
Internships are a carefully monitored and paid work experience through which students can pursue intentional learning goals and reflect actively on what they are learning throughout the experience.
Externships
Externships consist of unpaid experiential learning opportunities where students collaborate with their degree program to obtain class credit or to otherwise incorporate the externship into their course of study.
