The American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) offers a number of very helpful resources for individuals considering medical education. We recommend prospective students and applicants utilize:
MCAT Preparation
Student can utilize a number of resources to prepare for the MCAT exam. Some common and widely used resources to study are:
- Kaplan preparatory courses
- Princeton Review preparatory courses
- AAMC MCAT Planning and Study Resources and the MCAT Prep Hub
- Khan Academy
- Campus study workshops, groups and/or tutoring (check with your local campus for details).

UNLV General Guidelines to Application
An application for medical school must include:
- Qualifying citizenship and residency for application
- AMCAS application
- MCAT test score
- Personal statement
- Your transcripts and a completed bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. college/university that is regionally accredited by the time you start medical school
- A GPA that meets/exceeds requirements
- Experiences in a clinical setting, the community, and other areas such as clubs, organizations, employment, research, etc.
- Letters of recommendation
- Also, a secondary application, if invited to submit one
- And an interview, also if invited to participate
