Are you a high school student (or about to be one)? Interested in exploring your career options in education or other fields like cybersecurity, sports management and mental health? Check out the programs we’ve developed with our school and community partners to offer a variety of programs to help you:
- Investigate possible career paths through hands-on experiences
- Get a head start on earning college credits
- Develop essential skills like critical thinking, project management, and teamwork
Youth Programs
Rebel Start Summer Camp
Spend part of your summer building skills you’ll need to be college and career-ready. You’ll take courses that will give you high school and college credit at the same time. You’ll also visit campus for tours and programs. We offer two- and three-week hybrid sessions and a traditional five-week session. Financial assistance is available to eligible students. Learn more.
Rebel Teach
Earn up to 12 college credits (that also count toward your high school diploma) during the academic year. You’ll stay on your own high school campus and learn college-level material from specially trained teachers. Courses are available for only $75 each (a $720 savings compared to what regular UNLV students pay). Not sure if you want to teach? No problem. Our courses can be applied to multiple degree options at any state college or university in Nevada. Learn more and see if you’re going to a participating high school.
Youth Rebel Start Academy (YRSA)
Are you entering your junior year? Check out our youth apprenticeship program where you can earn up to to 39 credits of college-level coursework during the academic year and explore career options through a paid summer apprenticeship. Participants have zero out-of-pocket costs (pending continued funding availability) and you’ll receive support and success coaching to help then reach your academic goals and build career skills.
