UNLV School of Dental Medicine is committed to the scholarship of biomedical discovery. Led by the associate dean of research, the school’s Office of Research supports faculty in their research endeavors, and encourages student doctor research discoveries.

Faculty and students lead multiple projects on a variety of topics within the more than 4,000 square feet of laboratory space, including oral cancer inflammation cell mediators, bacterial biofilm formations, and the characterization of cariogenic pathogens in diverse populations.

UNLV Dental Medicine has received millions of dollars in grant funding from external entities including the National Institute for Health, and the Health Resources and Services Administration to support and further its research.
