Outdoor Signage

The UNLV Campus Signage Committee ensures outdoor marketing signage across campus is consistent; follows brand standards; prevents damage to surfaces, signs, trees and landscaping; and considers the general safety of campus. Committee approval is required prior to placing signage in campus wide outdoor spaces or on the exterior of campus buildings.

Types of Outdoor Campus Signage

  • Pole Banners
  • Yard Signs
  • Building Signs

All signage-related costs are the responsibility of the division or unit initiating the request. Install and removal may not be completed by an outside contractor.

Loaner Signage and Suggested Uses

The university has various types of signage available to be loaned for campus use, including sail banners, pull-up banners, and several large vinyl/mesh UNLV-branded banners.

Digital Signage

UNLV manages approximately 100 digital screens in lobbies, meeting spaces, and high foot traffic areas to promote upcoming events, resources, and services.

Content must follow university brand standards and is solely for UNLV and UNLV related business. Registered Student Organizations, university organizations, and UNLV departments may submit a slide or video for playback on one or more of the digital screens. Please contact our marketing department if you have questions regarding signage.

Design Guidelines

When designing a slide or video, follow these simple guidelines to improve accessibility for different audiences:

  • Minimize the amount of text.
  • Use a larger font size, but keep a healthy balance of space to avoid overcrowding.
  • Select familiar sans serif fonts such as Arial, Calibri, or Roboto.
  • Avoid using all capital letters and excessive italics or underlines.
  • Use sufficient contrast for text and background colors. White and black schemes make it easier for people who are colorblind to distinguish text and shapes.
  • Avoid using tables.

Review and Approval

The Director of Creative and Brand Management and UNLV's Digital Signage Committee reserve the right to request creative edits if the slide does not meet university brand standards.
