A message from UNLV Officer in Charge Chris Heavey regarding the leadership transition at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV:
Dear Colleagues,
As we move through the various stages of the leadership transition at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine, I’ve asked Dr. Alison Netski to serve as Officer in Charge after Dean Marc Kahn returns to his faculty role.
Given her current role as vice dean for clinical affairs and her familiarity with the school’s operations, Dr. Netski is well-positioned to provide stability and support during this brief transitional period. She has been in a central leadership role at the school for many years and has earned the trust of her colleagues across both the academic and clinical sides of the school.
This appointment will remain in place while I review the feedback received from faculty, staff, and community stakeholders, and continue the process of vetting candidates for the interim dean position.
Thank you again to Dr. Kahn for his years of leadership, and to Dr. Netski for stepping in to help ensure continuity of operations during this transition. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at any time.
Warm regards,
Chris Heavey
