The UNLV Administrative Faculty Committee (AFC) believes in recognizing and celebrating the invaluable contributions of our administrative faculty. Through the AFC Awards Committee, we honor administrative faculty members, in a variety of ways, for their hard work and dedication to our shared institutional mission. Our monthly awards, annual awards, and professional development funding aim to cultivate a culture where everyone feels valued and motivated to excel, with ample opportunities for their contributions to be recognized and celebrated.

Note: The Administrative Faculty Committee (AFC) does not discriminate when considering recipients for the Administrative Faculty awards. All qualified nominees will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, or national origin. For questions, email afc@unlv.edu.

Administrative Faculty of the Year Awards

We recognize exemplary administrative faculty who have consistently excelled in their positions and demonstrated significant impact at our university. The Administrative Faculty of the Year Award recipients are announced each year at the Academic Achievement Awards Gala (hosted by the president and provost) and at the Administrative Faculty Development Day. Recipients will receive a monetary award, a feature article in UNLV Today, and a headline on the AFC website.

The call for nominations is announced each year in December.

Administrative Faculty Professional Development Awards

Each year, the committee grants several awards of up to $500 to full-time administrative faculty to be used for a professional development endeavor. The award can be used to attend virtual or in-person events, and the funds can be applied towards opportunities such as conference travel, workshops, training, and certificates.
