UNLV is committed to preparing talented and workforce-ready students who are ready to launch their career upon graduation. We are also committed to helping our employer partners upskill and re-skill their existing workforce. As part of UNLV’s commitment to our employer partners, we consider employer-specific goals when designing microcredentials, and guarantee that they always include demonstrated in-demand workforce skills and competencies. Microcredentials complement but differ from traditional degrees or certificates in that they are offered on flexible timeframes (online, in the classroom, on-site) and tend to be highly focused.
Employer partners can collaborate with UNLV to develop credit and/or non-credit microcredentials. This presents a strategic opportunity for our employer partners to cultivate a highly skilled workforce tailored to industry-specific needs. By collaborating with UNLV faculty, employers can have a voice in co-creating microcredential programs that address specific skill sets that you value, ensuring that employees receive targeted training aligned with your industry’s evolving demands.

It’s important that microcredentials are flexible and reflect our employer partners’ needs for specific types of labor force skills. To ensure that UNLV microcredentials align with employers’ talent pipeline needs, we seek to partner with you to identify training gaps for your current workforce and skills gaps you need to address.
