In a Jan. 12 letter to students posted on UNLV’s website, UNLV President Keith Whitfield said that he had established a Committee on Campus Security and Safety to “review existing security measures and develop and implement a comprehensive safety infrastructure plan.” He also revealed that extra security will be present on campus in the form of university police as well as a private security firm.
