Accomplishments: School of Nursing

Jennifer Peltier (Nursing) won Best Poster at the 2022 Western Institute of Nursing Conference for her work on implementing and evaluating virtual escape rooms. She is a doctoral student.
Amanda Gutierrez and Janelle Rafanan (both Nursing) were named to the national board of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA). Both are undergraduates. Gutierrez was named NSNA director. Rafanan was named to the Nomination and Election Committee.
Kathleen Thimsen and Paul Thomas Clements (both Nursing) have been appointed as associate editors for the Journal of the Academy of Forensic Nursing.
Angela Silvestri-Elmore (Nursing) has been elected to chapter 100 of the National Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. 
Elizabeth Gaccione (Nursing) has been promoted to the role of student success facilitator. This position provides support for BSN students with time management tips, study strategies, and test-taking skills. School of Nursing was recently honored by the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association with the 2022 Institutional Award for Promoting Excellence in Cardiovascular Care. The school was formally recognized at the 28th Annual Cardiovascular Nursing Symposium.  
Andrew Thomas Reyes (Nursing) was named editor of International Journal of Nursing Education Scholarship. This is a peer-reviewed nursing education journal.
Jennifer Vanderlaan and Rebecca Benfield (both Nursing) have been accepted for fellowship by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
