Once a semester, UNLVolunteers sends about 200 students, alumni, faculty, and staff to more than 10 nonprofit organizations throughout the Las Vegas Valley for a day of service and learning about social justice. Participants will get to work with a wide variety of community members, ranging from working on trail building projects in Sloan Canyon to cleaning books for young students in Clark County.
Service Day is typically scheduled to start at 8 a.m., with all participants first meeting at UNLV to pick up a free Service Day t-shirt and a free light breakfast. After a brief orientation and training, participants will head out to their selected site to provide three hours of community service. Once completed, participants will carpool together back to UNLV for a free lunch provided by UNLVolunteers.

Be a Service Day Site Leader
Site leaders facilitate and lead discussion and reflection for all participants. They also get the opportunity to experience becoming student leaders and develop leadership skills while serving with their UNLV community.
Site leaders must attend at least one of three site leader trainings and all site leaders must be available to help with set up and check-in during Service Day. Site leaders also get seven hours of service hours.
