Before You Get Started
- You will need a category 5e or greater Ethernet (patch) cable. Plug the cable into your console’s Ethernet port and into the correct wall jack.
- You will need a USB Ethernet Adapter that is supported by Nintendo.
- You will need the USB Ethernet Adapter MAC Address from your console. Please consult the sections below on how to find your console’s MAC address.
Checking Your Current Ethernet Settings
Nintendo Wii
- Make sure your Wii is configured to connect via a wired connection.
- From the Wii Menu, go to Wii Settings
- In Wii Settings, proceed to the 2nd page by hitting the right arrow on screen.
- Select the Internet option.
- Select the Console Information option
- Your MAC Address should be listed under USB Ethernet Adapter MAC Address.
- Take note of that MAC address. Be sure to write down the entire string of letters and numbers, including the colons ":" in between.
Nintendo Switch
- Make sure your Switch is configured to connect via a wired connection.
- Go to System Settings.
- Select Internet.
- Select Internet settings.
- Once the option is available, select Wired Connection.
- At the bottom of the Wired Connection menu there will be an area that states LAN Adapter MAC Address.
- Take note of that MAC address. Be sure to write down the entire string of letters and numbers, including the colons ":" in between.
Register your Device
- Using a computer, go to the device enrollment website.
- On the enrollment page, enter your ACE password, check box "I accept the acceptable use policy".
- Enter in the MAC address of your Wii; select "Nintendo Gaming Device" as device type.
- Valid email address, mobile number and service provider are optional fields.
- Click Enroll Device.
- Once your device is enrolled, reboot your gaming device. Your gaming device should be now online.
