Admissions
Second Baccalaureate degrees are designed for students who have already completed a bachelor’s degree. Please consult the Office of Admissions regarding questions about processes and application fees. In the College of Sciences, students are not permitted to earn a second baccalaureate degree in the same field as their first bachelor’s degree program. Students are encouraged to consult an advisor in the College of Sciences for guidance about their degree program.
Information regarding the number of credits required and the course work required for a second degree may be obtained by consulting the section on Academic Policies and the section describing the desired major in the UNLV course catalog, or by speaking with an academic advisor.
Students are encouraged to consult the Office of Admissions regarding application processes and fees.
Post-Bacc for Professional School
Students who are planning to attend a professional school (e.g. medical, dental, pharmacy school, etc.) and want to earn a second degree prior to applying to a professional school to boost competitiveness should consider reviewing this guide and schedule an appointment with the Pre-Professional Advising Center (PPAC) at UNLV.
Returning UNLV Graduates
Students who are seeking a Second Baccalaureate degree in the College of Sciences within a year of graduation from UNLV are not required to see an advisor prior to enrolling in classes. Students should email sci.advising@unlv.edu to have their advising hold administratively removed. Students must include their name, NSHE number, and semester/year of UNLV graduation in their email, and an advisor will be in contact with them within 48 business hours.
