The UNLV Fire and Life Safety Permit Program established requirements and procedures for issuing permits in accordance with the International Fire Code (IFC) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in accordance with Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 477 adopted by Nevada State Fire Marshal.
The purpose of the fire and life safety permit is to ensure fire prevention measures are followed including access by emergency responders, egress of those attending the event, temporary structures are properly secured and cooking operations such as mobile food truck or events where cooking will take place.
The individual or organization must apply for the permit on-line at least 10 days before the scheduled event. All required documents are to be submitted when the permit application is submitted. UNLV Fire and Life Safety will review the application, contact the requester and issue the permit. There will be a fire and life safety inspection on the day of the event to ensuring compliance with fire and life safety codes.
