The Jason Geddes Rising Researcher Awards are presented annually to up to three NSHE permanent full-time faculty members at each UNLV, UNR, NSU, and DRI. UNLV will select three awardees each year. Awards are based on early-career accomplishments and potential for future advancement and recognition in research.
Each award carries a $2,000 stipend. Faculty members who receive the Jason Geddes Rising Researcher Award may use the title as such in perpetuity.
Eligibility
Nominees must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Be in an assistant professor position at the time of nomination.
- Have a strong beginning record of accomplishment during the time of employment with NSHE.
- Have a record of outstanding research accomplishment that is demonstrable through publications, patents and intellectual property, or grants and contracts.
Nomination Requirements
Nominees must be nominated by an NSHE employee or student. Self nominations are not accepted. Nominators should submit a formal nomination letter which speaks to the nominee’s research accomplishments and promise. Please note:If you intend to nominate a faculty member, please notify the nominee and submit the nomination letter to them directly. The nominee should compile all application materials, including the nomination letter, into a single PDF file and submit it by the deadline.
