The Urban Leadership Program, in partnership with Executive Coach Eddie Rivera, provides one-on-one executive coaching for Urban Leadership Students. Urban Leadership Colleagues have the opportunity to work with Eddie on-going throughout their time in the program as they grow their leadership and professional competencies in alignment with their career aspirations.
About Our Executive Coach
Eddie Rivera's journey from the island of Puerto Rico to becoming a renowned executive coach is a testament to the power of perseverance and passion. At age 20, Eddie embarked on what was meant to be a brief visit to Los Angeles, California, but that trip transformed into a lifelong adventure of personal and professional growth. Arriving with little knowledge of English, Eddie's determination to master the language became the foundation of his incredible career.
Eddie's professional journey led him to collaborate with esteemed organizations such as Bank of America, Citicorp / Citibank, Jacobs Medical Center-Internal Medicine, Bellagio Hotel & Resort, MGM Resorts International, Four Seasons Hotel & Resorts, and U.S. Bank. These diverse experiences have enriched his knowledge and insight, which he now imparts to students and clients.
Making Las Vegas his home for the past 33 years, Eddie has been a dedicated friend of UNLV since 2009, starting as a guest speaker at the College of Hotel Administration. In 2016, he became the Executive Coach for the MBA Program at the Lee Business School, where he continues to inspire students as a guest speaker. Eddie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University and a Master of Science in Behavioral Psychology from Purdue University.
Eddie's coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in his personal stories of persistence, hard work, failure, and success. His coaching approach resonates because it’s rooted in real-life experiences and transformative events.
