Digital Learning Initiative

The Digital Learning Initiative is our research-based approach to using technology in the classroom and best practices for courses taught either in part or entirety online.

Our goal is to design programs and provide resources that set the stage for our first-year students to succeed throughout their college careers and beyond. All the tools and resources available through this initiative also can be used by students at any level.

This initiative has three components. One includes activities and events through the Digital Fellows Project. Another component is “Learning to Learn and ALEKS® (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces),” a college readiness program employed through the Math Learning Center that allows students to review key math concepts and place into a higher-level math course than they might otherwise. The third is focused on helping faculty bring technology and digital strategies to the classroom and on helping to boost opportunities for them to take courses into the “digital classroom.”
