Applications will be reviewed by the Center Research Coordinator, Center Director, and Research Advisory Council. Please allow for 30 days for review of proposals. Once reviewed, the Research Coordinator will either provide written approval and facility approval letter to the primary investigator or discuss any concerns of limitations of the study for revision.
-
Submit UNLV IRB application and approval to Center Research Coordinator at preschoolresearch@unlv.edu. (If IRB was approved prior to LBECEC approval, application and approval can be sent with application—this would be primarily for recruitment of participant only studies). If you are from an outside university or agency, you must provide proof of IRB approval from your university or agency.
-
Meet with Center Research Coordinator to plan for study activities. Note that if you are conducting an intervention study with direct contact with children, additional steps may be required (e.g., background check, TB testing).
-
Upon completion of the study, all researchers must provide the Center with an abstract of the study and have the option to present findings at a RAC meeting. We ask that all researcher provide information on publications and presentations that result from study. Any questions about research at the Center or the proposal process should be directed to Dr. Jenna Weglarz-Ward, Research Coordinator at preschoolresearch@unlv.edu.
