Biography

Zida Wang holds a Ph.D. in museum education and visitor-centered curation from Florida State University. His research focuses on participatory action research and creating inclusive, hybrid museum experiences. He has led transformative initiatives, including co-curation projects and community-driven exhibitions that connect diverse audiences to the arts. Before his UNLV journey, Zida served as Museum Educator at Florida State University’s Museum of Fine Arts, where he designed and implemented innovative educational programs like The Art of Bonding exhibition. His career also includes curatorial leadership roles in international arts exhibitions, showcasing a commitment to fostering cultural exchange and accessibility, and teaching museum education classes.

Zida's academic contributions include journal articles published in The International Journal of the Inclusive Museum and book chapters with Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group. Currently, he is collaborating on a forthcoming book project exploring digital exhibitions, audience engagement, and accessibility in virtual museum spaces. Creating Virtual Museum: A Practical Guide will be published by Rowman and Littlefield in Fall 2025. Zida’s work has been recognized with several awards, including the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship from the National Art Education Association and the Emerging Scholar Award from the Inclusive Museum Research Network. As a peer reviewer for The International Journal of the Inclusive Museum and a frequent presenter at national and international conferences, Zida has shared his research on innovative museum practices with audiences around the globe.
