Yashia brings 11 years of professional experience and knowledge from various jobs within the public sectors (3 with the federal government, 2 with a nonprofit, and 6 years with state government-Clemson). In her last role with Clemson University, she served as a Grants Coordinator where she gained 6 years of experience in Pre-Award (Research Administration). She earned her Master’s in Public Administration from Clemson University during her time at Clemson. She believes that earning her M.P.A. has provided a better understanding for the public sector and why it is so important.  Yashia is looking to further develop the skills and knowledge gained from her professional experiences and apply those skills to her current role as a Research Administrator with UNLV. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and she plans to use her experiences and membership to continue promoting service, leadership, equality, and equity.
