Biography
Vikki Baltimore-Dale, a former company member of the D.C. Black Repertory Dance Company and the George Faison Universal Dance Experience (New York City) performed the role of "Sophisticated Lady" in the Broadway musical "Bubbling Brown Sugar." Her movie credits include "The Green Lady" in the "Wiz," "The Blues Brothers," Francis Ford Coppola's "One From The Heart” and “Baron Wolfgang Von Tripps”.
Baltimore-Dale was the first to teach master jazz dance classes at Yunan Art Institute in Kunming, China, and the University of Novosibirsk, Russia. She has choreographed professionally for the Cleo Parker-Robinson Dance Theatre (Denver), Windows International Dance Company (Hong Kong), and Kaleidoscope (New York). Internationally her works have been performed in Scotland, Australia, Ireland, China, Hong Kong, Israel, and Russia. Invited personally by Gus Giordano, founder of the Jazz Dance World Congress, Dale was an adjudicator for seven International JDWC Leo Choreography Competitions. She was the recipient of the 2010 Charles Vanda Award for Excellence in the Arts. An active member on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Blacks in Dance, Dale has coordinated, choreographed, and directed the traveling performances of UNLV BFA dance majors to IABD Conferences in Toronto, the Kennedy Center in DC, Dallas, Cleveland, Los Angeles, Denver, and Philadelphia where they performed on the same program with iconic second companies of legendary established American Dance Theatres such as Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Philadanco, Dallas Black Dance theatre, Arthur Mitchell’s Dance Theatre of Harlem, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Lula Robinson and Deeply Rooted, among many.
In 2017, Baltimore-Dale authored the textbook, Survey of African American Dance and the second edition in 2018 to accompany the UNLV multicultural course she constructed by the same title. The class and textbook is the only one of its kind to date. She is featured on TEDx Carson City presenting her choreography, “Angela Speaks…Past?..Present?” Dale is also third to receive the 2021 Dr. Bert Babero Sr. Faculty/Staff Award presented by UNLV Student Diversity & Social Justice.
