Truman joined the UNLV faculty in 2023. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and his B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University. Truman teaches financial statement auditing. Truman conducts experimental audit research. His primary research interests include:

• Improving auditor performance on complex tasks
• Understanding auditor interactions, both within the audit team and with audit clients
• Understanding auditor motivations and their influence on auditor judgments

Prior to entering academia, Truman was an internal audit consultant with Protiviti in Salt Lake City, Utah. His work there focused on designing, implementing, and testing internal control systems. Truman is a certified public accountant.
