The UNLV Academic Success Center hired Sydney Lisy as an athletic academic advisor in April of 2013. She was promoted to Senior Coordinator/Academic Eligibility Specialist in December of 2015. She is the specialist for volleyball, men's soccer and men's golf. Her additional responsibilities include oversight and operation of the student-athlete tutoring program, rules education and development and operation of new SAAS programs. In addition to her job duties, Sydney is actively involved on campus serving on a variety of committees and representing Athletics and the Thomas and Mack Center on the UNLV Faculty Senate.

Prior to coming to UNLV, Sydney served as the compliance coordinator at Chicago State University and Arkansas State University. Sydney graduated cum laude with her Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University and is admitted to practice law in Illinois. In 2007, Sydney earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Atmospheric Science from the University of Illinois where she was a member of the Fighting Illini softball team.
