Samrawit Misiker is the coordinator for the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Down Syndrome Program. She completes the intake process with people seeking services and information related to the program. This can include providing education and outreach support for people with Down syndrome and their families. She also manages referrals to specialists and networks with providers to coordinate care. Samrawit obtained her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences with a pre-professional concentration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in May 2021. She spent most of her undergraduate career researching bacterial spore germination. Originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Samrawit aspires to become a physician serving vulnerable populations while pursuing her research interests. She enjoys developing new skills and is currently learning to play the piano and improving her French skills.
