Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
I chose UNLV for residency training first and foremost because of the incredible people here. On my visiting rotation here as a fourth-year, I met people who have truly changed my life, and I knew this was a program who valued me as a person, not just a resident. We get exemplary training that helps me to feel very prepared in my future career, and I greatly appreciate our incredible family planning exposure as well.
What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
Obstetrics and family planning.
What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
Go to the Writer’s Block (a wonderful bookstore in town)! Also, enjoying all the great entertainment that comes to Las Vegas and the wonderful day trips in the area.
What is one fun fact about you?
I read 82 books in 2023.
What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Always be yourself and value your time as a person outside of work! This is truly a program that allows you to express yourself, and I think that is so important. As you’re looking for the right program for you, prioritize your happiness and balance and feel comfortable asking the questions that give you insight into how a program will empower your individuality. Also, always feel free to reach out to residents at the programs you’re considering to speak to them directly about their experiences!
