Biography

Ryan Bond is a percussionist, educator, and performer living in Las Vegas. Ryan teaches at UNLV, in the School of Music as the Coordinator of History of Rock and an instructor of percussion. Bond completed his Bachelor of Music degree at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, with an emphasis in commercial music; a Master of Music degree at UNLV; and is currently finishing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in percussion from UNLV under the mentorship of Dean Gronemeier, Ph.D., Timothy Jones, Ph.D., Alex Stopa, Ph.D., and Gary Cook.

Bond's career has been marked by numerous performances and clinics in various countries, including Finland, Norway, Sweden, Mexico, England, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Estonia, and Denmark. He has shared the stage with esteemed groups such as the World Percussion Group, Las Vegas Percussion Collective, Opera Las Vegas, Vegas City Opera, Las Vegas Sinfonietta, Southern Nevada Chamber Orchestra, Las Vegas Master Singers, and the Grammy-nominated UNLV Wind Orchestra, where he served as principal percussionist under the direction of Thomas G. Leslie. Notable collaborations include working alongside John Patitucci, Eric Marienthal, and Bernie Dressel. Bond's professional affiliations include being a member of the PAS Health and Wellness Committee and serving as the Nevada PAS chapter Treasurer.

He has been published multiple times in Percussive Notes, Rhythm! Scene, Not So Modern Drummer, and more.

Bond's commitment to the music industry is evident in his active participation. He regularly gives clinics, instructs camps, adjudicates, and freelances on the Strip and the Las Vegas area, in addition to maintaining a private studio. His work extends to the Las Vegas Youth Orchestras and the Clark County School District, where he serves as a percussion specialist. Bond proudly endorses Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, Majestic Percussion, Sabian cymbals, and Black Swamp Percussion.
