Ozgur Ozdemir joined William F. Harrah College of Hospitality in August 2017. Ozdemir earned his doctoral degree in Hospitality Administration with a concentration in financial management from the Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a master's degree in Hospitality Information Management from University of Delaware. His main research areas include corporate finance, corporate governance, firm strategy and operations management. Ozdemir has published more than 30 journal articles in hospitality, tourism, and business journals over his career and presented his work at prestigious conferences. His work has appeared in Tourism Management, Annals of Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Tourism Economics, and International Business Review among others. He teaches courses in finance, accounting, and financial analysis, and actively contributes to graduate student development through his commitment to pro-paper, master, and dissertation committees.
