Biography

Nikki Bennett is a Ph.D. candidate in biocultural anthropology specializing in human-nonhuman animal interactions. Nikki’s doctoral research focuses on pet guardian uses of direct-to-consumer genetic test services for companion animals. Her most recent study examined veterinary care provider perspectives on the clinical utility of genetic testing. Additionally, Nikki conducts research on human-wildlife interactions and the impact of media portrayal of wildlife species on public perceptions. Nikki brings a wealth of professional experience to her research, with 10 years experience working in veterinary settings and 5 years in wildlife management.
