Marianna Sarmiento provides high-level support for both the short-term activities and long-range strategic initiatives facilitating the progress of the school in supporting and advancing UNLV’s Top Tier initiatives. Additionally, Ms. Sarmiento serves as an advisor and as a liaison with administrative and academic units through the school of medicine and academic health center.

She received her MBA from La Verne University and a bachelor of science degree from the University of California, Riverside.

For more than 25 years, she served in a number of administrative positions with the County of Riverside California, including an assistant directorship of the Department of Public Social Services. With the County of Riverside, she handled budgets in excess of $500 million, and provided financial oversight for the county’s largest capital improvement project.
