Biography
Sun is a professor in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He currently teaches courses in Photonics, Optical Sensing, Advanced Topics in Semiconductor Devices, Microwave. His primary research areas are Radiation hardness studies using proton, neutron, electron, gamma rays, X-rays, and UV lights; AlGaN semiconductor, electronics, and optoelectronics; GaN and SiC circuit system technologies; Photoelectron devices and systems; HEDP diagnostics; and, ultrafast laser spectroscopy. Established the Center of Excellence for Security Science and Engineering at UNLV and is an affiliated scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Molecular Foundry.
