Get To Know This Resident
Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
When I interviewed, I could tell the residents genuinely enjoyed being around each other. It looked like they were really a family, and it felt like a good fit when I spoke with them. I was also very passionate about family planning and knew that UNLV had excellent training, particularly in the current political climate. I also was in Phoenix at the time and didn't mind the desert weather!
What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I love working on our busy labor and delivery floors and love getting to work with our patient population. I plan to be a generalist/laborist some day. I also love family planning and am always so happy to be rotating at our clinic providing family planning care to the community.
What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love exploring areas outside of the strip. I had no idea Las Vegas had so many outdoor activities to offer. The food scene is incredible out here, and I'll never miss out on a pool day in the hot Vegas sun!
What is one fun fact about you?
I once went white water rafting on the Nile River in Africa.
What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
You are interviewing places as much as they are interviewing you. Think critically about where you feel you would fit in and be well supported. It's a long four years and having the right community surrounding you makes all the difference!
