Dr. Jyoti Desai, an assistant professor in the UNLV School of Medicine’s Department of Obstetrics/Gynecology, works with Volunteers in Medicine of Southern Nevada, providing gynecologic and medical care for the underserved populations in Las Vegas.

An active member of the UNLV School of Medicine’s admissions process as well as a member of the medical school’s curriculum committee, Dr. Desai describes practicing academic medicine at the UNLV School of Medicine as a “perfect fit,” allowing her to provide compassionate care for patients, teach medical students, and be actively involved in the Las Vegas community.

Dr. Desai who speaks Spanish and Gujrati in addition to English, earned her medical degree at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, where she also did her residency in obstetrics/gynecology.

Her research has appeared in publications that include the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research and Reproductive Biomedicine. She has been invited to present her research at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Board certified in her specialties of obstetrics and gynecology, she is a generalist who also engages in high-risk obstetric care, initial fertility treatments, family planning, and minimally invasive surgery.
