Get To Know This Resident
Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
During the interview day, I could tell there was a lot of warmth and joy among the residents and that it’s a supportive environment, which to me was the most important factor. Also, the fact that we’re the highest level of care in our area meant I’d get a lot of exposure to high acuity cases.
What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I’ve really loved high-risk obstetrics for all its emotional highs and lows! I haven’t figured out if I’d like a fellowship or not.
What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
Rock climbing or anything outdoors! Vegas has so many climbing routes locally (top roping and bouldering), and we’re surrounded by national parks.
What is one fun fact about you?
I grew a lot of the flowers for my wedding in my backyard! I’ll never stop being obsessed with how my DIY wedding went, ask me for pictures.
What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Try and identify your biggest priorities in a future residency program and then go with what aligns best with those. Then if you still can’t decide, go with your gut!
